Larry Grantham is a Senior Managing Director at G4 Capital, where he leads the firm’s newly established West Coast office. In this role, he supports G4’s growth initiatives through fundraising and the expansion of origination efforts.

 

Larry brings over 25 years of experience across real estate credit, structured finance, and alternative investments, with deep expertise in capital formation and portfolio construction. He joined G4 from Calmwater Capital, where he was Co-Founder and Managing Principal. At Calmwater, Larry oversaw investment strategy and capital raising, building a global institutional investor base that included U.S. pensions and endowments, European and Japanese institutions, and domestic and international high-net-worth investors. Under his leadership, the firm invested more than $3.3 billion, with a focus on opportunistic and value-oriented strategies in the Sun Belt.

Prior to his time at Calmwater, Larry launched and managed a $1 billion real estate lending platform for a Los Angeles–based single-family office. Earlier in his career, he served as a Director of a credit joint venture backed by Fortress Investment Group, where he sourced, underwrote, and executed complex investments, including high-yield loan originations and acquisitions of non-performing loans secured by real estate and corporate assets.

 

He is a current or former member of several industry organizations, including the California Mortgage Bankers Association, CRE Financial Counsel, Urban Land Institute, IREI, and the Pension Real Estate Association, and is a frequent speaker at real estate and capital markets conferences across the West Coast.
